There’s an undeniable confidence and sincerity on display in London-based Zoey Lily’s debut single ‘Edges’. A pristine example of cinematic, swirling alternative pop - Lily’s voice elegantly glides over the top of a dark, brooding instrumental backdrop. It’s a somewhat gloomy affair, but one that cleverly pulls you in as the track swells and builds, culminating in a cathartic, string-laden finale, with the closing line: “I hope there are days / days you fall in love with being alive”.  At the tender age of 19, Zoey Lily appears impressively fully-fledged, penning mature lyrics, and executing them with aplomb. With her debut EP Reckless Minds slated for release this autumn, this promising newcomer is worth keeping a keen eye on in the months to come. -JC
